BAM Construction has agreed a £42m contract to build a new school in Sevenoaks, Kent.

The price is £8m above initial estimates for the projects, which has been granted full planning permission.

Work will see several buildings at the 800-pupil Wrotham School demolished, clearing the way for the construction of a new three-storey building and sports pitch to provide 265 additional pupil places from September 2027.

Designed by architects, KSS Group, the project will be delivered in four phases and, to ensure continuity of education, temporary classrooms will be erected on site.
