Closed Boston day nursery to reopen as 13th group setting

  • 4th November 2024

Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, has announced the sale of a vacant day nursery property in Boston, Lincolnshire.

This vacant property was formerly a day nursery registered for 50 children.

Owned by Alpha Nurseries, which went into Administration in December 2023, the setting closed at that time and was subsequently brought to market.

Following a sales process with David Eaves at Christie & Co, it has been purchased by Mark Wilsher of Clarence House Day Nurseries, who plans to reopen the nursery in November 2024.

This marks the group’s 13th setting.

Eaves said: “Following the closure of Alpha Nurseries in December 2023, we were approached to assist with the sale of this freehold property.

“We were immediately inundated with interest from a variety of parties, including nursery operators and developers interested in converting the property to an alternate use.

“I’m delighted the property will remain a childcare and education setting and this exemplifies the current appetite in the market from providers seeking to grow their portfolios, due in no small part to the demand created by the implementation of the expanded childcare funding.

“I anticipate we will see more transactions of this nature of the coming year, with existing operators taking on vacant properties to expand their offering, whether this is former settings that have closed or conversions from alternate uses.”

The vacant day nursery property was sold for an undisclosed price.
