Dudley hospital day nursery setting sold for the first time

Treetops Day Nursery in Dudley, West Midlands, located within the grounds of Russells Hall Hospital, has been sold to an unnamed small national group operator.

Established in 1993 by Janet Carroll, the Treetops Day Nursery setting is registered for up to 68 children and is located in a quiet enclave within the grounds of the hospital on the edge of the Barrow Hill Nature Reserve in Dudley.

The setting has been owned by Janet Carroll since 1993 and was then run under management by her daughters Emma and Charlotte.

The business was recently brought to market because of a family decision to exit the sector.

Following a confidential sales process with Jassi Sunner at Christie & Co, it has been sold to a small national group operator.

Sunner said: “Any day nursery that is co-located with a hospital will benefit from strong occupancy levels and that is exactly how things work for Treetops with Russells Hall Hospital.

“The staff at the hospital see the nursery as an absolute necessity to provide local childcare while they work different shift patterns.

“Following a short marketing campaign, we received a competitive offer from a small national group operator looking to increase its presence in the Midlands.

“This is another excellent example of smaller groups looking to grow across the Midlands and shows how competitive the market is in the region. We wish the Carroll family all the best with their future and look forward to working with the buyers again.”

Treetops Day Nursery was sold for an undisclosed price.
