Riverside Nursery in Battersea, South West London, has been sold to Kido Schools, which operates across London and the Home Counties.

Riverside Nursery is a large day nursery setting which occupies the ground floor of an apartment block on the upscale Battersea Reach housing development on the banks of the River Thames.

It can accommodate up to 113 children and the teachers draw upon the Early Years Foundation Stage Principles and the Montessori philosophy when caring for the children.

The nursery was founded in April 1992 in leased premises in Putney and moved to its present ‘freehold’ Battersea site in January 2010.

Its previous owners, Sandra and Enley Taylor, both former teachers, opened nurseries on seven sites throughout their 34-year career, and Riverside is the last to be sold.

They decided to sell Riverside to begin their retirement.

Following a confidential sales process with Sophie Willcox at Christie & Co, Riverside has been purchased by Kido Schools.

Willcox said: “We received a lot of interest in Riverside due to its fantastic location in the Battersea Reach development on the river.

“Kido is the perfect fit for the setting and I am excited to see the nursery flourish under their ownership.”

Riverside Nursery was sold for an undisclosed price.
