Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ day nursery in Berkshire sold to local operator
Christie & Co has announced the freehold sale of Audlen House Day Nursery & Pre-School in Thatcham, Berkshire.
Established in 2002 by Helen Driscoll, Audlen House has grown to become one of Thatcham’s longest-standing day nursery providers. The nursery follows the guiding principles that each child is unique and should have an enabling environment to aid their learning and development so they can reach their full potential.
At any one time, the nursery takes up to 68 children and has been recognised for providing quality provision through its ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted rating.
It is conveniently located close to Thatcham Station in a row of local amenities and therefore has roadside frontage, making it the ideal option for local and commuting parents.
Driscoll recently decided to sell to retire from the sector, which Sophie Willcox at Christie & Co facilitated through running a confidential sales process.
The nursery has now been purchased by Ranu Ltd, taking the group to five settings.
Raj and Anjali Kumar, owners of Ranu Ltd, said: “With the prime location of the setting, combined with their esteemed standing in the community and dedicated team, buying Audlen House was a no-brainer.
“As an Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ provider, we know that Audlen House will continue to be a shining example of high-quality childcare and education.
“Our plans for a full refurbishment and provision of new resources will hopefully enable us to take Audlen House to new levels of success.”
Willcox added: “We received lots of interest in Audlen House due to it ticking many of the boxes that buyers like – a decent capacity, strong underlying freehold value, and a stable, experienced staff team.
“Ranu Ltd is a great fit for the business as it can see potential in the site and is keen for the business to flourish under their ownership while maintaining the quality of care it is known for.”
Audlen Day Nursery was sold for an undisclosed price.
