A day nursery business housed in a futuristic, purpose-built facility in Bidford-on-Avon, Warwickshire, has been sold to an expanding nationwide early years operator.

Christie & Co recently announced the sale of Bidford Bright Stars Nursery (Cosmic House), which was built by Piers Daniell in 2019 and offers 7,500sq ft of space for up to 120 children.

The business occupies a eye-catching building, with a free-flowing interior for the children to enjoy and a plethora of rooms, with own access to secure, sectioned play areas so the different age groups can enjoy the impressive landscaped outdoor grounds.

Following a confidential sales process with Nick Brown at Christie & Co, the setting has been purchased by an expanding nationwide group operator.

Daniell, former part-owner, said: “When we bought the land in 2018, I had young children of my own and had met three passionate childminders who shared a vision to create something extraordinary.

“We set out to build more than just a nursery; we wanted a state-of-the-art environment that would give every child, regardless of their background, the best-possible start in life.

“Since opening in September 2019, Bidford Bright Stars has gone from strength to strength.

“We remained open throughout COVID, adapted our building to meet growing demand, and built a fantastic team, even developing our own apprentices to bring new talent into the profession.

“The decision to sell was not taken lightly, but we believe the nursery will flourish as part of a larger group.

“We chose a group that values the identity and independence we’ve worked so hard to create, and I’m confident they will carry forward our high expectations for giving young people the very-best first steps in life.”

Brown added: “I’ve been in the sector for over 25 years and have never seen a building like this.

“Being able to see how this has evolved from what was going to be a doctor’s surgery into the eye-catching, amazing environment for the children to enjoy is something really special.

“This sale had its challenges, but we are delighted that we have now sold this setting to a growing, experienced operator which recognised Bidford Bright Stars would be a super addition to its group, and we wish them all the best.”

Bidford Bright Stars Nursery (Cosmic House) was sold for an undisclosed price.
