Phil Venn has been appointed as head of engineering for the environment business at construction firm, Galliford Try.

Venn has been promoted from his previous role as a design delivery manager for the engineering team following Kay Denham’s promotion to the position of engineering director.

With more than 20 years experience in the water sector, his breadth of expertise ranges from onsite installation to project management, technical design, and design management.

He will work with the engineering leadership team alongside other operational directors to facilitate the delivery and success of the engineering function, reporting to Denham.

Denham said: “I am delighted to have filled this position internally, demonstrating our people-orientated culture of developing talent from within.

“We all welcome Phil into his new role as we continue to deliver our Source to Sea Strategy at this exciting time within our business.

“Our new engineering structure will enable us to maintain the high-quality services and operational excellence that our customers expect, particularly as we set ourselves up to meet the demands of AMP8 and beyond.”
